Its going to be much cooler today... North-northeast winds are tapping into a Canadian air mass and blowing it into Wisconsin. Most of our high temperatures this afternoon will reach the lower 60s, but some folks across northern Wisconsin won’t even get out of the 50s. We’ll see sunshine mixing with patchy clouds. It will probably stay dry, but a few sprinkles can’t be ruled out closer to the lakeshore. This fresh air mass from Canada will also scour out the recent wildfire smoke from our skies.

Temperatures will fall again after sunset. Tonight’s lows will dip into the 30s from near the Fox Valley and into the Northwoods. Areas of frost are possible, perhaps even into some climatologically cool spots in Calumet and Kewaunee Counties. It might be cold enough late tonight for a hard freeze FAR NORTH along the Upper Michigan border. If you have cold-sensitive plants that you want to keep alive, it might be a good idea to cover them up, or bring them inside tonight and again Friday night.

The forecast looks mainly dry heading into the weekend. With sunny to partly cloudy skies, temperatures will begin to climb again. Highs on Sunday will reach the upper-half of the 60s, with more 70s next week.
